Term limits. Good idea? Bad idea? Does it depend on the office. Lots more nuance to this idea than you might think. We get it into it. Great conversation here with (at Mt. Vernon!) bakercenter.utk.edu/podcast-season

Happy #FathersDay to all the dads out there, hugs to those missing their dads, and compassion to those for whom it's complicated.
JQA on fathers and sons. He adored his father, but that was a tough act to follow. As was he. ❤️

#OTD in 1953, Dwight Eisenhower gave a commencement address at Dartmouth, offering these words to the graduating class: Don’t join the book burners. Don’t think you are going to conceal faults by concealing evidence that they ever existed.

I spoke to this morning about the unprecedented events this week. The headline below will be in the history books. I'm honored to provide context from the past, but it's a bit 🤯 to be living through such a historic time.

Fantastic thread (a day late for me). I also think about FDR and Eleanor's sons. All four served during WWII and their father often didn't know their location, for their own safety and so he couldn't make decisions based on them. ❤️fdr.blogs.archives.gov/2018/01/31/son

On DDay, I like to think of 2 presidential sons: Teddy Roosevelt, Jr and John Eisenhower.
Teddy Jr was the oldest and highest ranking American to storm the beaches. Experiencing chest pains, which he didn’t tell anyone about and which killed him 6 weeks later
