An update I hoped I’d never have to make. I’m at a restaurant in Kharkiv, where less than 24 hours ago I was meeting with their amazing team. Today, a missile stuck. 4 staff were wounded. This is the reality here—cooking is a heroic act of bravery. 🇺🇦

FYI: The worst thing you can ever do to your confidence is minimize your achievements as a way to "fit" in. It's not a "thing," it's a big damn deal. It's not "little," it's important. It's not "nothing major," it's significant. Treat yourself like you should be.

The "journalists should get off Twitter" stance doesn't take into account that for Black/POC journalists, social media platforms provided a necessary outlet to challenge status quo and hold powerful newsrooms and editors accountable for toxic newsrooms, racism & poor treatment.

Judge Jackson’s confirmation was a historic moment for our nation. We’ve taken another step toward making our highest court reflect the diversity of America. She will be an incredible Justice, and I was honored to share this moment with her.

I join President Biden in wishing all Muslims around the world a blessed Ramadan. While COVID-19 has made gathering difficult over the past two years, I’m hopeful this year allows for more in-person reunions and a deeper sense of connection for all.

This afternoon, I’m signing the long overdue Emmett Till Antilynching Act into law — making lynching a federal hate crime. Living up to our founding principles as a nation means coming to terms with the sins of our past. Today, we take another step toward that more perfect union.

I just feel awful, foremost, for the Williams family, who put so much into making this movie the best it could be, and didn’t do anything to deserve how this night imploded.
