Advice I gave to someone who wanted to write more content: 1) Set a goal to write 1 blog post per week, month, etc. For my beginner's guides I aimed to write 1 post every month for 1 year. This forces you to commit since it's easy to push writing aside due to more urgent things

4) Ask a few people you respect to review your post. It's a great chance to connect with them. Not only will you get helpful feedback but they might feel more invested in your post and likely to share it with others

This +100. For me, I find that picking a topic you're excited about and describing it to yourself in writing is the easiest way to get started. Cover the basics, explain how you see it evolving over time and importantly try to encapsulate why you find it exciting.

and don't be afraid of describing the obvious—what's obvious to you may not be obvious to others. Sometimes these end up being the most salient points.

Totally agree. The notion that things can be common sense or obvious is flawed. Each of us have our own knowledge and experiences that shape the way we understand things. Going back to basics is really valuable and helps encourage people into this awesome

Great advice. Another approach: chat in private (low-stress/low-"quality commitment") with lots of people at once. Take ideas that you express from there and structure them a bit into Tweetstorms. If a Tweetstorm really hits, maybe develop it into a more lasting blog post.
