    Rittenhouse’s likely acquittal will simply make these right wing murder safaris more common. We’re seeing the inevitable result of the interaction between permissive open carry laws and expansive and subjective self defense justifications for homicide. It won’t end well.

    The judge in Kyle Rittenhouse's trial says lawyers cannot call the 2 people he killed "victims." Rittenhouse killed 2 people and wounded another with an AR-15 style weapon. The judge says "victim" is too "loaded" but will let lawyers call them "rioters, looters or arsonists."

    Facts: there are over 2 million child care practitioners in this country. Most of them make poverty wages. The Build Back Better plan would give them all a living wage and move many squarely into the middle class. Investments, it turns out, can MAKE money.
