“I call that smart.” I got no dog in this race (although Hurd is one of the extremely few Republicans I have respect for, I’ve taken the NeverGOP pledge—sorry Will), and I mean that will full metal irony.

Slow down. He is taking a stand by not running. The magnanimous response would not include taking a shot at him as he leaves, considering he may be one of the 5 best representatives the GOP has. Don't get me wrong, flipping the seat is everything, but take the high road, OK?
