Why aren't you up in arms that they promote eating disorders on the cover every other month?

They don’t though. Helping people with tips to be a healthy weight isn’t promoting eating disorders.

Had no clue who Tess Holliday was before all this, but as someone who overcame severe eating disorders & weight issues complicated by hypothyroidism I really can’t understand why people can’t be kinder when discussing this. Even using shame related words is detrimental here.
-
I’ve also had eating disorders in the past and recently just got back to a healthy weight. If the mags used HEALTHY models it would be different but there is NOTHING healthy about Tess Holliday’s weight and she herself has even said she’s got mental health issues. Obesity

Well this is the problem when you are basically famous for being fat. How can you lose weight if being obese is quite literally your job? Publications like
@CosmopolitanUK are just using her in the way Barnum used the bearded lady, in order to shift copy. -
The media should stop encouraging it. They’re just as culpable. This is why I also won’t see anything with Rebel Wilson. That’s how you stop it. You boycott.

"plus-size" I suspect dropping a pound or 300 would help with the mental health issues mentioned in the headline as well as the physical health issues she must be enduring.

You should stop fat-shaming everybody every single time. It just sounds like you have a personal vendetta against them.

It couldn’t hurt to read the Cosmo article & do some research before making a statement like that. She is working with a personal trainer & at the start of a journey after postpartum depression https://people.com/health/tess-holliday-working-out-trainer-massy-arias/ … It doesn’t hurt to be kind.

You should be ashamed of trying to silence freedom of speech and expression. She can be on the cover of a magazine whether you like it or not. Obese people exist, get over it. Just be happy you're not. A magazine cover isn't going to create more fat people so stop scare-mongering
