On Monday, the entire city of DC had just 14 new cases of COVID. The Trump White House alone is now responsible for 23 new cases and counting. They had every privilege available to them to limit the spread of the disease and they blew it. Hard not to be furious.
For perspective: We were about hit the target of 5 cases per 100,000. Our positivity rate was approaching 1.5%. We are trying to get kids back in schools in Nov. Grocery and transit workers are masked for 8 hour shifts. But the White House threw a maskless super-spreader party.
I posted this last night: I genuinely wish protection, recovery, and peace for all affected by COVID-19. That being said, the irony of the fact that my daughter, who gained admission to a university in DC to study biology with the
goal of providing healthcare to underserved people but is not able to physically attend out of concern for access to healthcare for residents of DC, while those who are responsible for the well-being of the nation showed no such consideration is a bit much to bear at the moment.
