Thank you to Tinge Krishnan and the anonymous figures who spoke to me about film/TV racism They say those speaking out see damage to their careers And are horrified at hypocrisy of some they say behave badly signing open letter calling for end to racism

The match was only part of the BBC's coverage of the event, rather than a separate programme. Means last night had highest peak, but is only the second most watched 'programme' of 2022 with 11.00m. In TV programme terms, it's just behind Platinum Party at the Palace with 11.21m

For completeness Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils 28 day catch up total is 3.698 million, adding a bit under a quarter of a million viewers to the 7 day catch up figures. Means it slips a place to 25th most viewed of the week

Doctor Who's 7-day catch up audience figures are 3.47 million. A (proportionately) bigger rise than usual. Makes it the BBC's best performer of the day, the third biggest overall after ITV's The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe (8.66m) and BGT (6.94m). And 24th in the weekly chart twitter.com/lizo_mzimba/st…

Very sad to learn that the brilliant Eric Chappell has died aged 88. He was the genius writer behind Rising Damp, Only When I Laugh, Home to Roost and Duty Free. And so many others

Interestingly the Doctor Who figures were pretty consistent throughout, there wasn't a drop off when BGT started 20 minutes into the episode. A good figure for The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe on ITV which had a BARB overnight audience of 4.71m

Last night's Doctor Who Easter special had an overnight audience of 2.20m (11th most watched programme of day). Was beaten by Antiques Roadshow on BBC Two (2.26m). For younger audiences was tough for Doctor Who going up against Britain's Got Talent which won the night with 5.20m.

Worth remembering that back in 2016, when Chris Rock hosted the Oscars, he also then mocked Jada Pinkett Smith for her video saying she was boycotting the ceremony because of the awards lack of diversity

In essence the report has no surprises. Many, including the excellent , have been writing for weeks about what happened - not referring to misunderstandings by fans etc., but saying clearly and unambiguously that the rules weren’t followed

And the FIA changing “any” to “all” in lapped cars rule seems cosmetic not substantive. The rule “any cars... lapped... WILL BE REQUIRED TO...” means if they’re in that category they have to. Substituting “all” for “any” makes no difference. Doesn’t clarify, rule remains the same

A large chunk of the report is taken up with describing the pressures on Race Director Michael Masi. But skates over the way Mercedes complaints (which appear to now be validated by the report) were dismissed by the stewards who aren’t under the same pressure as the Race Director
