It’s ONE of your important roles. Another is to create policies and influence practices that are equitable, human-centered, and work to reverse structural racism and classism. Both roles are important and have long-term impact, and will be appreciated. 
I am raising white children in a country that says a life is less valuable if it’s Black, Brown, or Poor. Teaching my kids to know, be, & do better is my chance to break this cycle of violence inflicted on Black & Brown people. It’s my most important role. #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd

Hi, Dr. Lomax. I fully agree both roles are important. What I’ve found abt motherhood is it is deeply personal & deeply transformative work. No one can show up to justice work outside their home if they haven’t done justice work inside their home. That’s why I view it this way.
