    Thread. Computer science hasn’t had this reckoning. Yet.

    I didn't come up in computer science; I used to be a physicist. That transition gives me a rather specific perspective on this situation: that computer science is a field which hasn't yet encountered consequences.

    this is actually a fascinating way to look at it -- YouTube has discovered the ultimate liability shift labor model even more effective than non-employee contractor farms -- a volunteer community that didnt ask for the new work in the first place

    I wonder how the Wikipedia editor/contributor community feels about this. It seems like their job has gotten a lot harder.
