    I carved this Ark of Polar animals Out of wood with a small chip knife (out of sight are the Narwals & walrus) it took me 3 months to make. The Ark is modelled on sizeable nuclear power station the animals are coming to complain to us about their loss of habitat. It’s an

  8. Passed the 600 postcard point!there are mosses,liverworts,loads of birds still to do not to mention the moths,caterpillars,insects & fungi,3 ponds 2 streams as yet uncharted carries on bringing me comfort in difficult times helping me as I loose myself in my work

  18. Mr Bullfinch & his mate are in the back garden again & he’s a handsome fellow.Soon they will build a nest in a mature stand of scrub & there she will lay between four & seven eggs Later when the chicks are fledged I will watch them feed in front of the house again

  19. Bullfinches are normally very shy birds and often one only gets a fleeting glimpse of them so I was very excited when she arrived and I sat very still. I’m sure she didn’t even realise I was there and I got to watch her for quite a while which felt like a real honour.

  20. Today’s postcard is of Mrs she came to a twig right outside my kitchen window & looked at me through the glass. My kitchen(smaller than some walk-in wardrobes) has become myFavourite bird hide because it’s cosy & warm on a cold day with tea on tap
