Sounds like she just got shoved & her phone grabbed, fortunately, but yeah, wtf.

Yes. But getting shoved at 80 is no picnic. This, unfortunately, is why I don't walk around any more.

Well, between the dangerous mentally ill on the streets and the thug/gangsters, walking around if you're old and frail is no picnic.

Yeah... crime's not low enough as long as that happens.

Crime is quite a bit higher than the stats suggest. People are not reporting incidents because they don't think anything will be done.

I'd love to see that thinking change. There's so much data and info and communication now. At least get the stat in. Then bug the precinct captains and Supervisor 3x/week about it. Seems like the answer to getting lost in the noise is to get louder.

Even intelligent well informed people here in SF are giving up hope.

I'm hoping the
@SFUnified and@ChesaBoudin recalls succeed or at least get close enough to change some thinking around here.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
I'm ordinarily not a fan of recalls (I'm old enough to remember the recall of the Justices) but I think this time they're called for.

As a partisan power-play (CA justices, G. Davis) they're wrong. For action directly against the public interest, yes. Judge Persky in San Mateo a good example. Recall laws also need reforming. @SFUnified @chesaboudin
