How bold. To speak out to criticise Kate Hoey (with a wee political dig) for saying her view while simultaneously presenting yourself as an objective academic commentator on brexit... 😕https://twitter.com/hayward_katy/status/1073715317619257346 …

Bizarre for academics who are brought in to studios, committees etc to comment (presumably as objective analysis) are clearly engaging in overt political attacks, activity & promoting agendas. Major blurring of lines & she is not the only one at it

Pattern of DUP trying to silence or undermine business reps, farmers, community sector or academics when don't like what they say. Thought we had open and plural society.

Have you challenged leading academic economist Graham Gudgin for giving his views on Brexit being a threat to the union or his downplaying of the scale of discrimination under old Stormont?

It is one thing to have a conclusion or view drawn on your academic analysis, but surely all of us can honestly assess that Katy's post is nothing more than a petty political dig. That is what I was highlighting. Are you really comparing the two? If so, disappointing

Oh please. Not exactly criticising, just pointing out an obvious irony. Northern Ireland is not in Britain by virtue of, er, geography.
