After years of extensive trial and error I have developed a method of eradicating earworms. Instead of reciting the song in your head, isolate a single measure and repeat it as though the entire song was just that piece. You will quickly tire of this and purge the earworm!
yeah my usual experience of earworm is the same bar over and over and over
