Speculating: throwing heavy objects. Using rocks as tools we know was important. Throwing them probably part of that. Also, brachiating. When did that stop being matter of survival?

I reckon wrestling has been going on a long time! Recent evidence: change from hunter gatherer to agrarian left a big imprint on women's arms, and on men's shinbones. It seems women in early agrarian were doing a lot more lifting and shifting than in hunter gatherer times
