Wonder if the real potential of pattern languages in architecture isn't necessarily using the original one which Christopher Alexander created, but different individuals & groups of people creating their own to use as references & share.

How does that relate to his view about there being certain eternal/right way to design and build? My hunch was that there might be an opportunity for contradiction, ex. if a pattern became about a specific style or personal artistic expression as opposed to shared best practices.

the “right way” is finding good (not “degenerate”) pattern languages and speaking them together with nearby others

in my mind it’s kind of like yoga - once you’re in the right mindset you can discover new asanas/patterns
