What do you think are the best sources of evidence as to whether things are getting better or worse for people at various time scales?

i think a lot of the human progress data discussed by
@OurWorldInData,@MaxCRoser,@sapinker, etc is heartening and significant. doesn't capture the full story (e.g. widespread sense of purposelessness/despair in affluent societies is under-discussed) but worth looking at1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes -
