Is there a time since adolescence that your aesthetics have radically changed? What did you stop liking and start liking? Any idea why?

I can't read the "pulitzer prize winning" style anymore. you know what I'm referring to. I used to read quite a lot of it, both article and even book form. why? turning on the lights makes it more obvious how dusty the corners were.
I went from liking the hinting, ambiguous, unresolved to liking specificity, strong abstraction, resolution or resolvability
