I can't read the "pulitzer prize winning" style anymore. you know what I'm referring to. I used to read quite a lot of it, both article and even book form. why? turning on the lights makes it more obvious how dusty the corners were.

happens year or two, esp with music. typical reasons: - change in amount of sleep I’m getting changes processing pace - emotional relationship w/ world changing types of emotions I need - becoming conversant in a form’s tropes and learning to read it

oh, fourth reason—and I think this is close to comprehensive—change in reproduction system changes what sounds good; ex, Simon & Garfunkel only ever sounded good on a turntable after substantial wear made the record sound much rounder.

I stopped liking genres, and started liking specific things. I stopped feeling deep connection to the media I consume. I think it was atomisation, or to be more precise I lost interest in having my tastes validated.
