It's weird to frame the problem of suicide around it being the biggest killer of men under 45. What would you prefer they died of?

suicide rate now is about the same as it was in 1900, but in 1900 it was .8% of deaths, now around 1.6%
I keep meaning to write this up - shot up during the depression then fell, basically flat since then -
