like wouldn't you think with all that pharma tech, thousands of compounds, only extreme outliers wouldn't benefit from any of them?

Question of cost/benefit. There may be many drugs that would make my life a little better, but not enough to be worth actually taking them.

What sort of costs are you thinking of here? Surely if _on balance_ they make your life better, they are worth taking?
