It's practically a truism that women attempt suicide and men commit suicide.

Men use more violent and deadly means - guns, hanging. Women use less violent and more imprecise means - cutting wrists, taking pills.

Women's favored means leave more room for error or backing out as well. You can puke up your pills or bandage your wrists.

A gun to your head, even if it isn't immediately deadly, is going to promptly incapacitate you.

Which btw, we've all heard the thing about cutting down the road, not across the tracks, right?
