it really would be useful for designing textiles! that's an interesting application.
Maybe selectable basepoints? Which could be lines or shapes and points? So I could have a stick and a flower. Sketch on the stick+flower and then scroll out to play with the running bond. Are tensors possible useful metaphors in this anywhere? There would be flows.pic.twitter.com/45emQXO3H0
Different centers with certain properties. One being degree of life (organized complexity). Local symmetry. It's relation to the whole.

Omg thank you so much for this banana. Yea Alexander is hard to keep hold of beyond a toy example. Partly why rugmaker is interesting because it's a step beyond the black and white linear squares and gets at building (at least) two dimensional centers. But I did in a stream once
And wow. So much fun playing in a stream thinking about structure preserving transformations in terms of rocks and water, silt, bit of mud. Alternating Repetition is huge. Obvs. Boundaries. Degree of life, being a directed segment And the connectedness. Move a stone move thous

That's a thing too. How it's made. It matters that a human also makes it. And that it's actually designed by that person. Design-tool just seems inherently image-based. It's not about making. What about the knot tie-er who just composes. Why does she want a design tool.
parallel thought - yes, *roughness* and texture generally is a dimension of rug design that the "image printer" folks miss completely Is texture / thickness computer controllable in any commercial process? Now I wanna find out...
roughness in design example - look at the white line in the border of the first one, irregular but just where it needs to be, vs the 100% cut-and-pasted un-rough border in the second one that suckspic.twitter.com/yoz2l440RP
