I would like to state firmly, clearly, and with a great deal of pride that I exclusively subscribe to fake arts.
-
elsewhere he calls them “fantasy-based martial arts” so as to be less disrespectful which I find adorable

was just watching these like a week ago tangentially from pro wrestling

Im curious what other examples there could be for closed-fake systems unwittingly sauntering into an open system which brutalised the fakest systems (like happened in MMA)
-
I was wondering something similar: what’s the epistemological equivalent of MMA updating the fake by adding blood and pain, for realism?

a really formative and helpful experience for me was, at university, studying 'chinese buddhist Mushindo Kempo' under 'Shifu Nagaboshi Tomio' - his massive book is still, shamefully, available https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bodhisattva-Warriors-Philosophy-Symbolism-Buddhist-ebook/dp/B00EQOZ2TU/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=nagaboshi+tomio&qid=1585242193&sr=8-2 …

Most followers were lovely people and I did a lot of good yoga / kempo. It all came out a few years later that 'Shifu' (Terry Dukes) was abusive, it was a personality cult, the book was all made up, stole photos, &c &c - and he probably hadn't been a bodyguard for the Dalai Lama
