the idea I’ve heard is that if all the kids in school come home then their caregivers who also happen to be doctors need to come home too

school is a daycare center so the real worry is how all these working parents will handle a job & a kid at home

Counter-argument is that effectiveness is debatable as kids will need to be stored somewhere while parents work, but economic hardship and lack of school lunches it's not debatable.

I would be so amazed (and honestly impressed) if the kids managed to develop a system to infect themselves as efficiently as the school system will
