having a really hard time thinking of nonfiction but a lot of fiction - the work of alice munro comes to mind immediately, major themes of her work (short stories)

in terms of collections The Beggar Maid/Who Do You Think You Are and Friend of my Youth are my favorites probably - There’s Something I’ve Been Meaning To Tell You is up there too (Beggar Maid is a great story in the disobedience/error vein I think)
