It's fun seeing the threads I saw you pursuing on twitter over a couple of weeks come together. I have no more thoughtful response other than to also note I "read" this post using the text-to-speech utility of Instapaper & will probably read it again at least once more.

seems like one accessibility thing in my case would be putting a strong distinction between the quotations and my own text - like “end quote” at the end of each quotation

Quotes are always a challenge reading text to speech. Because you cite work after quotes I can generally tell.

I’m perfectly capable of reading (visually) but I just like text-to-speech. There may be a tiny bit of ADHD related attention stuff happening, which means I never 100% pay attention so I do multiple reads when I want to absorb something.

same - audio content goes with my hobbies better than reading with eyes, though I haven’t gotten used to robot speech yet
