honestly this is the most mysterious passage I've read thus far in the Torah, it has a weird air about ithttps://twitter.com/qorprate/status/1219465000600981506?s=19 …

the passage invokes that middle hour, when one awakens yet the world is shadowy and dreamlike, where one's feelings and auras bubble up to the surface, casting themselves out upon the night

tbh, this episode is real horror, more terrifying than what we're allowed to put in the movies, on the same plane as Lovecraft

the fact that we know so little about the characters enhances the horror: one might not identify with the complex patriarchs in Genesis, and thus we feel for them, but Moses and Zipporah could be anyone. we feel through them. they could be any of us.
