Huh. I suppose I should have remembered that given that I've read the whole thing and it indeed sounds very Wittgenstein. I liked the book but it doesn't seem to have made much of a lasting impression on me.

Yeah and I think the problem is partly that there's so much Wittgenstein in the water these days that it's easier to remember the conclusion than the metaphors because he talks for like two pages and the conclusion is one sentence you already agree with.

EXACTLY - I’m finding it easier to read with the mindset of trying to figure out exactly how much ethnomethodology owes to him rather than just for general knowledge (not that that exists)
