Imagine a pill that makes you unconscious, but still able to function normally, for 8 hours. While on it, you can move, talk, form & access memory, work, etc. (like a p-zombie). It costs $5. How often do you use it?

Hmm... why $5? Also, I'm having trouble understanding what's being asked. Would a pill which knocks out all memory formation be the same thing, effectively? (Cos the whole p-zombie idea I find quite incoherent and distracting, in general... :P )

the idea here is your memory keeps updating, you just don’t experience anything. whether that’s the same as just not forming memories might depend on whether you think having surgery with no anesthetic, then a memory wipe, is the same as with anesthetic.
