I started thinking of myself as post-postrat after repeatedly getting booted out of the postrat SF bay area group each time someone blocked me for not being sufficiently apolitical™ (iirc, my sin was repeatedly pointing out that those who work forces tend to also burn crosses)

There are some good heuristics and blog posts that I wouldn't have found if not for post-rats, but the same is true of big yud-style rationalism. My last real interaction was when someone on the [chat platform; notionally secret] @-tagged me in a semiparanoid rant re doxxing

Anyway, meta-level pattern recognition and manipulation can be fun, but it's important to remember that your meta-level aesthetics are just aesthetics. Object level reality is not obliged to conform to spherical-cow style simplification, even if they do yield pleasing symmetries.

reading suggestions for post-rat? Yud-rats were appealing to me for a while as an intellectual community operating outside of both academia and entrepreneur culture, but it was quickly apparent that i didn’t share any of their ideological leanings...

@literalbanana is probably the person to ask, I still see them as sort of the rightful caliph of post-rat-dom
