So y’all, what I’m really asking for is thoughts and links on beauty and it’s relationship to things like responsibility, compassion, solidarity. How can you seriously make art without abandoning a responsibility to usefulness, connection, service?

Ahhh yess this: ‘Both beauty and utility are qualities of “fit” with the human context.’ and in one sentence is summarised why I hate almost all tattoos ever created - they hardly ever ‘fit’ their wearers or their wearers’ other tattoos.
yeah it’s actually shocking when you see someone with truly excellent tattoos that do fit
