intuitive theory time I can sometimes feel disconcerted in moments of self-consciousness, when I must model my ego within the complex bounds of the world I rarely, if ever, feel this when delving into external subject matter without a perception of the self

often, while delving, it feels as if my attention is a tentacle conforming to the shape of a concept like a part of my self-perception exits my corporeal shell, loosing awareness of its temporal and worldly concerns reminds me of this posthttps://twitter.com/mnvrsngh/status/1167427523325526016 …

manvir singh @mnvrsnghJust learned that “fascinate” comes from Latin verb “fascinare”, which means “to use the power of the fascinus”. What’s a fascinus? Turns out it’s the divine phallus, which protects against the evil eye. Here are 2k+ year old sculptures from Libya showing the phallus vs evil eye pic.twitter.com/hoMqKHDvLe2 replies 0 retweets 5 likesShow this thread -

that sounds sapir whorf-like but the words come after the perception, so I'm not so sure i could also describe it as a the sensation of a warm ray of sunlight upon one's third eye in my mind's eye, concepts are central analogs to what can synonymously reference them

i think a lot in metaphors; abstractions formed of prior concept bits, swapping pieces as they better fit
