ok cable knit jumper with precisise sizing here we go idk i wanna learn how 2 make like,, hat but i dunno where to even look for stuff like this that is like 'just above beginner level' seems like this is my eternal curse. can get circle needles p cheap if i want so np there

the essence of knitting is making a rectangles and tubes - everything is a variation on this

increases and decreases mean you can also make a triangle or a cone - hat is basically a tube with a shallow cone at the end

if you have DPNs and know how to make decreases you can make a hat - solving the problems along the way is fun

but you can also knit a hat on flat needles and sew up the seam later (rectangle with shallow triangle at the end)

hmm hmm, would it be better 2 learn on dpn or circle tho

circle is easier - even for socks I mostly use two circular needles at once instead of dpns these days

also i totally need to learn how to make wool socks,,, borrowed some (clean) ones in finland and they are the best
