only way I can think of is to grab a few asteroids, drop them all at one spot and try to blow them up with a large explosion from below as they reach the ground to slow them down and prevent cratering

anything else seems basically impossible to me, like many orders of magnitude more difficult than even the most ambitious mile-tall superstructure construction ideas I've heard of. just way too much mass. would need so many hundred-foot-tall backhoes
