intellectually I know that as retweet count increases on an innocent tweet, the probability of someone getting mad about it approaches 1, but it still surprises me EVERY TIME

I think it was probably better, at least psych health-wise (for all parties), in the past where an idea inherited some of the position of the last messenger. So if it's 6 social circles away, it still has some 1st circle valuation. Now "bad" RTs are pure "who dafuq is dis kid?".
