      As populations of legacy cities creep back toward historical peaks, there's going to be a problem. All the of built spaces left over from a time when urbanity was obvious will have been rediscovered. We can only re-occupy the ruins, because we've lost the ability to build them

      In most (good) cities, the borders of gentrification have swallowed up the borders of the beautiful, ornamented, brick rowhouses that everyone loves. We can't make them anymore, the required expertise is gone. They're all from 1840-1910.
