Experimental research on "priming" has fared poorly in replication studies. But isn't priming reliably used by mentalists in stage magic, where stakes are high and consistency is crucial? Can't find anything that discusses this.

Specifically, science has no good way of analysing a living system, because the system cannot be reset to allow repeated experiments. Statistics is a shitty workaround to this problem
