Pretty sure this is just straight up Ben Shapiro's strategy, piling so many misrepresentations of the opponent's argument and inaccurate nonsense that they spend all their time trying to correct him and never actually make a point or say anything worthwhile.

I hate Ben Shapiro but the left has been doing this for decades. The source of ire for Shapiro is that he flipped an annoying strategy on you.
