Why do people get so mad talking about whether it’s irresponsible to speed & run yellow lights? Is that politics too?

Is it status? Like whether it’s more a function of high time preference, poverty, lack of imagination, or somehow being “cool”?

this is how I feel but recently I’ve seen advocates for running yellow lights AND anti-speed limit driving!

or maybe just blaming people who drive the speed limit for accidents instead of people who speed

coordination is good - everyone doing 50 is safe, everyone doing 75 is safe mix of people doing 50 and 75 is not so what you get is coalition politics ... with all the vehemence & implicit threats of violence that those always generate debate is hijacking evolved monkey brains
