Why not? A hunter is also willing to spend unnatural internal resources when he pursues a prey, and expose himself to risks by going into unexplored territory quickly while following the prey. All with the goal to gain more from the meat of the prey.

yeah I agree - over any reasonable time scale it’s an “exchange” with different investment strategies, energy as currency
