Explain self-loathing to me. I get misery and I get wanting to die but I don’t get self-hatred.

Definitely not meant in a sense like loathing or worse, blaming the self for its capacity to suffer. If that=self-loathing, I don't get it either. More like repudiation of of "my person", of the presumed biographical/visible/physical self, refusal to identify with [>

[> a given outward "I" that I can't even see. Given as in received unasked-for, as in a curse. So that supposed self-destruction is not self-punishment (strange & shocking idea whenever I hear of it) but disidentification, disdain for the object of "self-care".
