This is something I've thought about. If you go through the threads, there are a fair number of these: multiple forms of color-blindness, lack of smell (anosmia), tonedeafness, lack of musical enjoyment (musical anhedonia), lack of mental visual imagery (aphantasia)...

find other people's recountings of their experiences; see if any of them sound more like yours than others. if so, find the ones that sound most like yours and see if those are regarded as abnormal. if not, then yes it is

holy shit I should do a thread on this. figuring out that my weird brain has some sensory cross-wiring (among other things) was a long slow discovery process.
