Is there something in your domain of expertise that people thing is really hard but it’s actually really easy?

For me it’s the idea of a shawl passing through a wedding ring like that’s easy as hell you just knit with very fine yarn it’s not hard like

I think the hard part is that knitting something that size at that fineness demonstrates a pretty serious time commitment, and therefore is rare. (The hard part of crochet is probably consistent stitch tension, but crochet isn’t hard...)

is it sexist that I’m really impressed that someone named Ryan figured this out

I took up crochet a few years ago to have something to do with my hands that wasn’t a screen, and to have a make-y hobby I could do on the dining table, unlike small engine repair.

I have more respect for small engine repair because it’s what’s more mysterious to me but they seem aesthetically the same
