Do you feel like it's exclusionary to use the term "guys" to refer to a group of people that contains both men and women? e.g. "Hey guys, it's nice to see you!"

Oooh fair distinction. That does feel different than a group of all or mostly women. Less clear that you're not just forgetting the sole woman in the group, whereas if they're all female then it's obvious that it's just a generic group term. Dang
I think I use “guys” for all women? idk it feels so friendly & nice to me it’s sad to think of shaming people for it

Using it even for groups of all women has always seemed 100% normal in the Northeast/New England; most of the concern about this I've noticed online seems to be coming from the Bay Area/Pacific NW where evidently those of us with this linguistic habit are weird
