When people get mad and say “jeez it’s so basic read a first-year textbook” I suggest doing exactly that

likewise I still say "it's not my job to educate you" is legit when it's simply the fact rather than a status move but my ethical rule is always convey assumption of good faith f try to add "but [pointers in more helpful directions]" if I do *have* to say it

snobbery about having to teach 101s always was a pretty reliable indicator of anxious mediocrity in actual-academia too

nitpick I feel like this analysis is just as good without ascribing a derogotary "imaginary" status, gamehood already implies constructedness, & imo there are many humanities courses

with real observations & distinctions to make & only mere spicings of socjust &c inculcation -
not indented as derogatory, everything important is imaginary basically
