Okay so find some philosopher (or in many cases economist) and bang on for decades about how only their worst ideas are the best thing ever, and before long everyone has completely forgotten the rest of their ideas and identifies them with only the awful ones.

more often a case of “ah this idea serves my greed but this other idea is antithetical” or like people who cherry pick the bible and come up with “gays r bad” instead of “love one another” this sort of thing

“One implication of the Laffer curve is that increasing tax rates beyond a certain point is counter-productive for raising further tax revenue.” Ah then reducing taxes is always optimal! No jackass that is not the theory, that’s what you *want* want the theory to be.
