Re: the Cynthia Nixon story about sexist air conditioners -- Don't women have more body fat, which insulates them from cold? I'd think they'd be better-able to withstand cold, if anything. Would like to see empirical evidence one way or the other before generalizing.

The idea there's a sexist plot to manipulate room temperature never occurred to me. (IME it is women who are always fiddling with the temperature, but I'm oblivious to interoceptive signals, & never thought my experience generalized.) Not aware of any data on the matter.
