I suspect that arguing about whether something is good or bad is an extremely effective way for humans to learn about it

Wonder how this applies to non-participants in a debate who haven’t formed an opinion yet. Thinking of experiences where hearing a lot of people say that something is bad makes you want to learn more about it.
yeah at minimum it signals it’s something people care enough about to make a good/bad judgment
