Have to say it's irritating when you're reading academic writing where the author quotes something in another language (which usually seems to be French) without providing any translation. Makes it less accessible to many people who would otherwise be prepared to understand it.

I always assumed ppl like bragging abt knowing french they always seem to provide brief translation of latin but will just quote french phrases and move on its messed up
